U.S. Women Second at Worlds

After landing seven medals, three finalists, and one world champion, the U.S. Women’s National Team took 2nd as a team in a solid performance that had both highs and lows. Team USA had 135 points. They were second behind powerhouse program Japan who had 195 points, and finished ahead of 3rd place Mongolia with 80 points.

Amit Elor not only went back-to-back as a world champion, she put herself in position to make history…again. If she wins the U23 world title, that will mean that she won all three world titles—U20, U23 & Senior—two years in a row, The 19-year-old continues to rack up accolades that some of our best haven’t even come close to their entire career.

Adeline Gray won her 10th world medal, making her the most decorated U.S. women’s wrestler all-time, passing Kristie Marano-Davis and Helen Maroulis, who both have nine. Maroulis earned her ninth only an hour before Gray won the bronze.

55 kg Jacarra Winchester won her second world medal, adding a silver to her 2019 world title. 65 kg Macey Kilty also won silver, her first Senior Worlds hardware.

50 kg Hildebrandt, 57 kg Helen Maroulis, 59 kg Jennifer Page, and 76 kg Adeline Gray were all bronze.

Japan won 7 out of 10 weights, including the first four weight classes.
